Campaign Ideas

We’ve been running the Maryland Charity Campaign for quite some time. So, naturally, we have a few veterans and experts who know some of the most effective and creative ways to drive donations. Below are some of the great ideas developed over the years we’d like to share with you.

Promotion Ideas

Giving Tree

Put a tree up on the wall or memo board and when ever someone donates place the name of the charity they have given to on a tag, preferably in different shapes (leave, hearts, stars etc.) and put them on the tree. Typically, it is advised not to place the names of the donors on the tags–just the charity.

Candy Counting Contest

Participants donate $1 to guess how many pieces of candy is in each jar. Proceeds go to a MCC participating charity selected by the winner. The winner should be announced at the end of the campaign. Candy suggestions include Jelly Beans, M&M’s, Starburst, smarties, jolly ranchers, tootsie rolls, and Hershey Kisses.

Pizza Party

A pizza party is a way for staff to socialize and raise money for a good cause. Order pizza and sell it by the slice for $1 to $1.50, and all proceeds go to a MCC participating charity selected by the office. You can also have additional refreshments to sell, such as drinks or chips.

Donation Reminder Messages

Give out reminders at the end or beginning of each week. These reminders are designed to catch people’s attention.
